Day Zero - Oh, I'm goin' to New Zealand!
The travel to Manchester Airport was remarkably efficient - apart from a cold bum sitting at Worksop station we managed to make a smooth and painfree connection within only a few minutes of the previous one. At Sheffield we walked off one train and stepped onto the Manchester train just as it was departing, and at Manchester we boarded a (practically empty) bus to the airport within 30 seconds of it pulling out. The taxi from the airport to the hotel also arrived within the space of 5 minutes of ordering.
If I were a superstitious man (which I am) I would say the journey was great. Too great.
The hotel is nice - a Premier Inn - basically so far it looks like an upper market pub with six floors worth of rooms above it.
I'm sitting writing this as I await my steak, and just ordered an 'unlimited breakfast' for 5.30am tomorrow. Just enough time to eat, down a couple of pints and have a Premier sleep.
